LVDTMonitoring Sensors
Crack Displacement Sensors
Linear variable displacement transducers (LVDTs) measure crack width changes with 0.001mm resolution. Sensors are bonded across cracks and transmit continuous digital data to cloud platforms via wireless gateways.
Mechanical tell-tale gauges provide a visual record of cumulative movement at lower cost. They are read manually at weekly or monthly intervals.
A minimum of 12 months of data is needed to distinguish seasonal thermal movement from progressive structural cracking. Temperature sensors are co-located with crack gauges for correlation analysis.
