Problems We Solve

Forensic Engineering Group operates alongside a network of specialist firms. Each one exists to solve a specific category of problem for building owners, engineers, strata managers, and asset operators.

01

Your structure is showing signs of distress and you need engineering answers

Cracks appearing in walls. Concrete spalling from soffits. A balcony slab that deflects under load. Water staining through joints that should be sealed. These are symptoms of deeper structural problems that require independent engineering investigation, not a contractor quote. Without root-cause diagnosis, repairs fail repeatedly and liability grows.

02

Your building facade is deteriorating and you cannot see the full extent from ground level

Tiles cracking or delaminating on upper floors. Sealant joints failing and allowing water behind cladding. Render bulging or separating from substrate. Facade defects on high-rise buildings are invisible from the street and dangerous to occupants below. Council may issue a show-cause notice, or worse, a public safety order that restricts building use until the facade is assessed.

03

You need to inspect a roof, asset, or site but access is dangerous, slow, or expensive

Scaffolding a warehouse roof for a visual inspection costs tens of thousands of dollars and weeks of lead time. Sending people onto fragile roofing risks falls and further damage. Multi-storey assets, solar arrays, and infrastructure corridors all present the same access problem: you need eyes on the asset, but getting there safely is the bottleneck.

04

Your height safety anchors are overdue for testing or a new install needs certification

WHS regulations require that roof anchors and fall-arrest systems be tested at defined intervals. Missed testing exposes the building owner, strata body corporate, and any contractor who connects to the system to personal liability. New anchor installations also require proof-load certification before workers can rely on them. Without a current test certificate, the anchor system is non-compliant.

05

Construction vibration is damaging neighbours, or your structure is moving and you need proof

A developer next door is piling, excavating, or demolishing, and cracks are appearing in your building. Or your own project has DA conditions requiring vibration, noise, and dust monitoring. Or a structure you manage is showing slow movement and you need data, not guesswork, to decide whether intervention is needed. In all cases, you need continuous, defensible measurement with engineering review.

06

You need accurate as-built data but traditional survey is too slow or incomplete

Renovating a heritage building with no drawings. Verifying construction against the BIM model. Documenting a complex industrial plant for shutdown planning. In each case, you need millimetre-accurate spatial data of existing conditions, and tape measures, total stations, or 2D survey just cannot capture the full geometry in a reasonable timeframe. Incomplete as-built data leads to design clashes, rework, and budget overruns.
